The Diagnosis menu is visible only if the diagnostic features of GeNIe are enabled. See Enabling Diagnosis for more information.

The Diagnosis menu offers the following commands:

Test View

This command opens the Testing Diagnosis window. The window will open only if the network has some Target or Observation nodes. Shown below is a snapshot of the Testing Diagnosis window:

Image:DiagnosticWindow.jpg

Top left pane: It displays the Target nodes, which are non-observable and ranked nodes, typically representing various faulty components.

Top right pane: It displays the Ranked Observable nodes that have not yet been observed. All ranked observations in this pane are not yet instantiated (i.e., they exclude the Mandatory observations, which have to be instantiated before the diagnostic procedure starts).

Bottom left pane: It displays Observable nodes that can been instantiated. The nodes are either displayed in Red or Black color. Red color indicates it is a mandatory node and has to be instantiated to begin the Diagnosis. Black color indicates it is an observable node that may or may not be instantiated by the user.

Bottom right pane: It displays the Observable nodes that have been instantiated.

The specifications applied to all models and the testing diagnosis window will always be characterized this way.

Entropy/Cost Ratio Slider: It describes how the measure of informativeness of an observation or a test is combined with its cost. The Entropy/Cost Ratio can range between 0 and 99999.

The contents of the box next to the Entropy/Cost Ratio represents the highest value for the slider and can be changed from 0 to 99999. For e.g. if your value ranges between 0 and 500, you can enter 500 in the box to limit the maximum value of the slider to 500.

If the Cost ratio is zero, then the Test Ranking Score is based solely on Test Effectiveness with disregard to the costs of testing. Any higher number determines the importance of cost in the ranking.

See Diagnostic window section for more information.

Spreadsheet

This command opens the Spreadsheet View for the current network in a separate window. See Spreadsheet View section of GeNIe workspace for more information.

Show Cost Arcs

This command displays the cost arcs within the network. i.e. it displays the Cost Graph View of the network. See Cost Graph View for more information.

See Cost of Observation to learn how to use cost arcs within your network.

Autoformat

The Autoformat options is used to automatically color the nodes based on their diagnostic properties. When selected it open the following dialog box:

Clicking on the Defaults button will display the following menu:

Set as Defaults: This option sets the current selection of colors as the defaults colors for Autoformat.

Restore Defaults: Restores the color settings to the default settings.

Reset to Factory Settings: Restores the color settings to the factory settings that come with GeNIe.

Select Nodes submenu

The Select Nodes submenu can be used to select nodes based on 3 types of nodes, the Targets, the Observations or the Auxiliary nodes.
