GeNIe Workspace: Introduction to the GeNIe Workspace
From DSL
The GeNIe workspace is what you see and use when you work with GeNIe.
GeNIe workspace allows you to view the network in many "Views."
The normal views that regular users use are the Graph view and the Tree view.
When diagnostic features of GeNIe are enabled, two additional views are available, these are the Cost Graph View, and the Spreadsheet View. Documentation for the Spreadsheet View is located in the Support for Diagnosis section.
Status Bar displays the number of evidences and target nodes set for the active model.
Case Manager allows the users to create cases for different combination of evidences instantiated.
The Output window is where GeNIe will display important messages for you.
The toolbars and menus along with the property sheets for nodes, submodels and networks are described in the GeNIe Reference Manual.
GeNIe is equipped with an intelligent interactive agent (sometimes called Genie of the GeNIe), an on-line help system (you are reading it at the moment), and a tip of the day file.
GeNIe allows for working with multiple models at a time, Each model can have an unlimited number of arbitrarily nested submodels. The model can be viewed simultaneously in the Graph view and the Tree view.
At any given moment, only one window in GeNIe workspace can be active. An active window can be easily recognized by both being completely in the foreground and by its distinct characteristic (such as a dark blue top bar) determined by your Windows settings. To make a window active just click on any of its elements. An alternative way of making a window active, useful when the workspace contains many windows, is by selecting its name on the Window menu.
When the left mouse button is released, the window selected will be made active.
You can organize the windows in GeNIe workspace into a cascade or a tile using corresponding choices on the Window menu.
