GeNIe Workspace: Case Manager

GeNIe includes a Case Manager window that allows the users to create cases for different combination of evidences instantiated at a time for a given network.

A network should be open to enable the view features of the Case Manager Window. To enable the Case Manager select the Case Manager option from the View Menu in the Menu Bar. The window shown below will open up.

To create a new case, left click the [ ] new case button. A new pop window will open up, please fill the name, category and a brief description for case reference.

To view the nodes within the case manager, left click the [ ] show evidence button. This will display all the nodes in the graph in the gray title bar. To set the evidence of a node either right click the nodes on the graph and select Set Evidence option from the menu or right click bottom corner of any white cell below the node name. It will allow the user to select an evidence corresponding to the node.

Select the [ ] apply case button to select a case from the Name Column and click [ ] update case button to apply the evidence on the case. Select the [ ] update tool from the standard toolbar to update all the other nodes in the network and view the results.

To locate a case enter the case name or specific characters of case name in the [ ] ' Type filter string here ' area and select the [ ] 'Filter text' button. This will display the case that matches the case name or the cases that have the specified characters in the case names.

[ ] 'Show filtered cases' button displays the filtered cases. It is also a toggle button to alternate between the filtered cases and other cases. The figure above shows search performed for characters " 56" , it displays all the case names containing the characters "56".

[ ] Delete Case deletes a selected case from the Case Manager.
