GeNIe Tutorials: How to use the GeNIe Tutorials

Welcome to the GeNIe Tutorials section. The GeNIe tutorials section is structured so as to make you learn GeNIe in a gradual way, without overwhelming you with too much detail. For this reason, we suggest that you go through the tutorials in the order they are displayed.
Structure of the tutorial section
Tutorial 1 through 4 will help you get started with GeNIe right away. Tutorial 2 and 3 are step by step tutorials, which solve a realworld problem using decision models.
Tutorials 5 through 9 will revisit the basic operations that you performed in tutorial 2 and 3, but now in a more general sense. You will be using these operations regularly while working with GeNIe.
Tutorials 10 through 12 focus on how you may use certain features of GeNIe for analysis on the network.
Structure of each tutorial
Each tutorial has the following information at the start :
- Objective of the tutorial
- This specifies the main objective of the tutorial
- Estimated Time
- Estimated time required to read through and work out the examples in the tutorial
- At the end of the tutorial you will be able to:
- view list of things you will in the course of the tutorial
At the end of the tutorial is a link to the next tutorial. Within the tutorial the text is written in a single font, Verdana. All explanations (including this line you are reading is written) using this font. That's it. Now you are ready to start of with the GeNIe Tutorials. You may start with the Starting and Exiting GeNIe tutorial. You may skip this tutorial if you have sufficient experience in working with MS Windows programs.
