DO NOT add smile.lib as additional linker input in project settings - smile.h takes care of that. Please note that release builds are compiled with _SECURE_SCL=0 on VC 8.0 and later. We recommend adding this option in preprocessor definition section of project settings (only in release configuration)

SmileX		ZIP    SmileX 1.0 for Windows (.ocx)  [555 kB] (October 20, 2008)  URL    SmileX 1.0 for Windows On-line Documentation... Comments: This is a somewhat old-fashioned ActiveX control exposing some functionality of SMILE. We are keeping it because of user demand. May be useful for VB6 or VBA applications. For VB.NET we recommend Smile.NET.
